 Neodymium Rare Earth Magnets

What are neo Magnets?

A neodymium magnet (a special type of rare-earth magnet) is a powerful magnet made of a combination of neodymium, iron, and boron — Nd2Fe14B. These magnets are very strong in comparison to their mass, but are also mechanically fragile and lose their magnetism at temperatures above 80 degrees Celsius. Neodymium magnets are rated in strength from N24 to the strongest N48. For example N35 is 35 Mega Gauss or 3500 Tesla. Both Gauss and Tesla are units of magnetic flux density. 1 Tesla is equivalent to 10,000 Gauss. The Earth's magnetic field in its core is 25 Gauss. Refrigerator magnet is 50 Gauss. The N35 magnets are 35,000,000 Gauss.

Gauss rating for Neodymium magnets:

The Neodymium magnets have a simple naming method. They all start with "N" which simply stands for "Neodymium" and is followed by a two digit number.

This number represents the maximum energy product in Mega-Gauss Oersteds (MGOe) where 1MGOe (cgs units) equals 7958kJ/m3 (SI units). The range available used to be N24 up to N52. The lower grades are no longer made and the range now starts at around N35. N50 is the highest readily available grade. N52 is possible but only in certain sizes.

The current range of Neodymium Iron Boron magnets is as follows:-

N35, N38, N40, N42, N45, N48, N50, N52

* Residual Flux Density, Br, is the magnetic induction remaining in a saturated magnetic material after the magnetizing field has been removed.

! ! ! WARNING ! ! !

Neodymium magnets are dangerously strong. Smaller ones can pinch the skin while larger ones can crush your bone. When two of neodymium magnets touch each other, most adults are not able to separate them. All neodymium magnets larger than one square inch at the pole come with hard foam spacers that make it possible to separate them. Wear gloves and goggles while handling. Neodymium magnets can shatter explosively when attract to other magnets and metals at very high speed.

We accept custom manufacturing of neodymium magnets:

For orders as small as $500 we accept custom manufacturing of neo magnets in any standard shape and size you request. We can also manufacture irregular shape Neodymium super magnets based on your specifications.
