Voltmeters
What is a Voltmeter?
A voltmeter is a device that
measures the voltage (difference in electrical pressure) between two points
(usually in an electrical circuit).
To understand the voltage in an
electrical circuit you can think of it as water pressure in a water pipe. For
example when the pressure of water in a water pipe is high (in compare with
outside pressure), water can exit at high velocity and go far. When the pressure
is low then water can exit at low speed and does not go far.
In the same way, high voltage
electricity can jump far (almost like lightening that jumps from the clouds to
the ground). Low voltage electricity on the other hand requires a very tight and
good contact to flow.
Desktop Voltmeter
This is a desktop analog Voltmeter or
Volt meter for measuring or showing electrical voltage between two
points in an electrical circuit.
It can show the voltage between 0 and
15 Volts with 0.5 volt accuracy. Or it can show the voltage between 0
and 3 volts with 0.1 volt accuracy.
Product Code: VMETER1

This analog voltmeter (also known as
potentiometer) has an adjustment knob and 3 binding posts. The black
binding post is for the negative side of the connection and the red
binding posts are for the positive side of the circuit. Each red binding
post is for a different range and they are all marked with raised
characters in front of the device.
Desktop voltmeter is recommended for
students and classrooms.
Box dimensions are 10 x 9 x 6 centimeters.
Keywords: Educational desktop
voltmeter. Analog voltmeter, Potentiometer.
