Beeswax

Natural beeswax granules

Natural Beeswax have unique properties that make them an important ingredient of many pharmaceutical and cosmetics applications. We focus on the purity and consistency of beeswax for such applications.

Natural Bees Wax Pastilles

NBWAX3G is our highest quality beeswax for food and cosmetics applications. This product is well filtered to remove all impurities and is converted to small pellets pr pastilles to simplify the process of measuring, blending, melting or other manufacturing steps.

The color of NBWAX3G is naturally light yellow and no colors have been added.

Beeswax granules for size comparison

NBWAX3G is a low odor product. It does have the natural smell of natural beeswax; however, the smell is less due to the filtration process.

Natural Beeswax Blocks

Depending on the level of filtration natural beeswax blocks are available in light and dark colors. Each block may weigh about 1 or two pounds.
The properties of beeswax does not change when converted to pastilles or melted back to blocks. We offer both the blocks and pastilles.

Blocks can be cut to smaller sizes by knife, by saw or by hot knife or hot wire.

Source of Natural Beeswax

is secreted by the glands of the honeybee (Apis Mellifera) and is used as a building material for honeycombs. Because of the highly complex composition of beeswax and its soft, pliable nature, beeswax remains an indispensable raw material for many finished products even after centuries of commercial use. The large number of agricultural countries exporting beeswax ensures that beeswax is never in short supply.

Applications of Natural Beeswax:

Creams, Lotions, Lipsticks, Cold Creams, Depilatories, Ointments, Salves, Pharmaceutical Excipients, Food Additive, Food Inks and Coatings, Non-food Inks and Coatings, Emulsions, Color Cosmetics, Hair Care; Furniture, Wood, and Leather Polishes; Textile, Wood, and Paper Finishes; Lubricants, Candles, Moldings, and numerous industrial applications.

Beeswax can be used in the entire range of cosmetic products, for example in W/O and O/W formulations, sticks, salves, make-up, hair care products, etc.

In sticks beeswax improves structure, oil retention, firmness, adhesion, pay-off and mould release. In emulsions beeswax functions as a consistency regulator and as a (co-)emulsifier and contributes to skinfeel, emolliency, barrier function and appearance.

In pharmaceutical salves and creams beeswax improves the cosmetic properties of the product. In suppositories beeswax is used as a coating. In the production of soft gelatin capsules beeswax is an important ingredient.

In candles beeswax is traditionally used for its beautiful colour.

Beeswax candles also burn longer and are appreciated by many as a high quality product.

Beeswax has food additive status (E901, GRAS). Widely used in the coating of soft candy, chocolate, fruit and in industrial bakeries as a release agent.

Compatibility of beeswax with other waxes is excellent.

Advantages of Beeswax:

Beeswax has been used for thousands of years for its unique chemistry which has the ability to produce creamy textures in a variety of cosmetic applications. In emulsions the free fatty acids can be used to make in-situ emulsifiers, improving emulsion stability and texture.

Advantages of beeswax:

- High binding strength

- Pronounced plasticity

- Excellent emulsifiability

- Relatively low melting point

- Highly occlusive character
