Zinc Electrodes and Zinc Metal sheets

Zinc Plates

These Zinc (Zn) high purity plates measure 6" x 3" and are approximately 0.032 inches (0.8 mm) thick.  They are high quality, high purity and have shiny surfaces.

Metric Dimension:

  • Length = 15 centimeters
  • Width = 3.75 centimeters
  • Width = 0.8 millimeters

Zinc is a bluish-white, lustrous metal.  It is brittle at ordinary temperatures but malleable at 100 to 150oC.  It is a fair conductor of electricity, and burns in air at high red heat with evolution of white clouds of the oxide.  The metal is employed to form numerous alloys with other metals.  Brass, nickel silver, typewriter metal, commercial bronze, spring bronze, German silver, soft solder, and aluminum solder are some of the more important alloys.  Large quantities of zinc are used to produce die castings, which are used extensively by the automotive, electrical, and hardware industries.

These zinc plates are specially offered for educational purpose and science experiments. If you need large quantity or large sheets, please call 973-777-3113 to check the availability and price. Small quantities may be purchased directly from any of the following online stores.

Zinc Electrodes

Stamped Zinc Electrode: Stamped zinc electrodes are approximately 5" x 3/4" x 3/64" ( It is about 12cm x 2cm x 1 mm in metric system). This zinc electrode can be used for constructing a voltaic pile,  demonstrations, chemical experiments and physics experiments related to the density and the heat conductivity.
