Lead
Rods and Wires
We offer lead in two forms of rod
and wire.
Lead Rod, 38 cm x 10 mm
Lead is a very soft, heavy metal with a
bright bluish white luster when freshly cut, but tarnishes to dull gray
when exposed to air. It is toxic, highly malleable, ductile, and a poor
conductor of electricity. Lead is very resistant to corrosion; that's why
lead pipes bearing the insignia of Roman emperors, used as drains from the
baths, are still in service. It is used in containers for corrosive
liquids (such as sulfuric acid) and may be toughened by the addition of a
small percentage of antimony or other metals. |
This pure Lead (Pb) Rod has
the following dimensions.
- Weight: 300 grams
- Diameter: 10 millimeters
- Length: 38 cm (15 inches)
 |
The Lead Rod may be used for
industrial applications as well as Science experiments. It is a valuable
addition to any collection of metals and chemicals.

Lead Wire, 5 foot coil
This lead (Pb) wire has a 1/8"
diameter and is 5 feet long. Lead is a very soft metal and for this
reason is fun to play and experiment with.
This is a high purity lead wire used
for science experiments, craft works, and industrial applications. |
Other sizes can be produced upon request.
