Pulleys
Pulley systems and individual plastic pulleys
with metal frames are used in teaching about pulleys in physics and mechanics
education. Most plastic pulleys come in a steel frame; however, we are also
offering some that have aluminum frames. Pulleys with aluminum frames are
recommended for experiments in which you may have a strong magnet in the path of
a pulley and use of steel frame pulleys are problematic.

The most common educational plastic pulleys
with steel frame are:
- Single pulley with a 50 mm (diameter) sheave.
- Double parallel pulley with a 50 mm (diameter) sheave.
- Triple parallel pulley with a 50 mm (diameter) sheave.
- Quadruple parallel pulley with a 50 mm (diameter) sheave.
- Double tandem pulley has sheaves with 50 and 40 mm diameters.
- Triple tandem pulley has sheaves with 50, 40 and 30 mm diameters.
- Replacement sheaves, pack of 5
| The second most popular educational pulleys are
plastic pulleys with aluminum frame. These pulleys are available in the same
combinations as the above steel frame pulleys, but they have different part
numbers. |
